Solidus showcase latest circular packaging innovations at CFIA in Rennes

Solidus will attend the annual CFIA exhibition for innovations in the food processing sector at Rennes Parc Expo (France), from 14^th – 16^th March 2023. Solidus joins over 1600 exhibitors, making the show the most comprehensive for professionals in the food processing sector in Europe.

At the show, Solidus will be showcasing its latest innovations in circular packaging with the FUTURLINE® range of retail-ready packaging for the food processing sector which includes:

• Solid board punnets offering rigidity and moisture resistance, delivering better protection for produce over plastic and folding board alternatives.
• Paper-based modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) trays, which can be used for dried fruits, vegetables, specialty herbs, as well as meat, fish, and ready-meals, and matches the shelf life of its plastic counterparts.
• And skin packaging which offers a cost-effective solution for meat and poultry that meets consumer demand for ready-to-eat products; the range features deep vacuum technology which supports the shelf-life of produce and decreases the need for protective packaging fillers.

Developed at the new Solidus Experience Centre in Spain, circularity is at the heart of the range. New skin packaging and MAP solutions by Solidus use at least 80% less plastic[1] which is easily separated so that their paper-based materials can be fully recycled after use; whilst the punnets offer a 100% recyclable solution, made from renewable resources.

At the tradeshow, customers can also learn more about Solidus’s circular strategy which transforms recycled paper-based products into packaging and other solid board applications such as point-of-sale displays, sustainable transportation pallets and luxury packaging.
