Because many of our products come into direct contact with food, food safety and hygiene are at the heart of everything we do. To strengthen our Quality team, we are looking for an experienced Food Safety Specialist who will help us maintain and continuously improve the highest standards across our operations.

What are you going to do

Food Safety & Compliance

• Serve as the internal expert on food safety and hygiene systems.
• Support the development and implementation of SHE systems, with a strong focus on food safety and hygiene.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards, ISO standards, FSC requirements, and other relevant regulations.
• Coordinate REACH-related activities and ensure product safety compliance.

Audits & Quality Systems

• Plan, coordinate, and conduct internal audits and food safety inspections.
• Monitor audit findings and drive corrective and preventive actions.
• Support the preparation and coordination of management reviews.

Documentation & Quality Control

• Manage documentation within the QOL document control system.
• Continuously optimize and standardize the QOL system to ensure efficiency and compliance.
• Maintain Declarations of Conformity (DoC) and product specifications.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Work closely with multiple departments across different locations to ensure alignment on food safety practices.
• Act as a key contact for SHE facilitators on food safety topics.
• Investigate food safety complaints, identify root causes, and implement effective improvements.
• Evaluate new product developments against food safety requirements.
• Develop and deliver engaging food safety training programs

What you bring

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (HBO/WO) in Process Technology, preferably Food Technology, Chemistry, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in food safety and management systems, preferably in the packaging or food-contact materials industry.
• Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
• Highly accurate and detail-oriented.
• A customer-focused and results-driven mindset.
• Strong organizational awareness and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic, international environment
• Fluency in both Dutch and English, written and spoken, is required.
