Graphic Designer

Location Skipton (United Kingdom)

We are looking for a creative Graphic Designer to join our busy and dynamic team for a leading solid board packaging company. The ideal candidate will have a strong art working background and an exceptional eye for detail. The company offer an excellent working environment.

What are you going to do

  • Responsibility for producing print ready artwork.
  • Checking artwork on a technical level, including colour separations and retouching.
  • Outputting files for lithographic print production.
  • Responsible for ensuring production is to the highest quality standards adhering to customer requirements.
  • Review project briefs, confirm acceptance of briefs and escalate issues.
  • Prepare graphics for internal print.
  • Manage and archive accurate artwork files.
  • Correct and format artwork for client approval.
  • Proof checking before finalising artwork sign off.
  • Adapt existing artwork to various layouts and formats.
  • Handle briefs and artwork revisions promptly.
  • Take control of projects in a timely and professional manner.
  • Communicate with internal teams during project phases.
  • Output printing plates for production.
  • Travel to other Solidus sites as and when required as part of the design team.

Our expectations

  • Working with Aporgee (Amfortis) front end software engine a distinct advantage.
  • CAD Design
  • Good technical knowledge of print processes and finishes.
  • Knowledge of cutter guides.
  • Demonstrate a high level of technical art working skills.
  • Thorough understanding of various print methods and preparation of print ready artwork files.
  • A team player, prepared to help others if and where needed with excellent communication skills.
  • Flexible approach to managing work within specific deadlines.
  • Takes full ownership of all responsibilities.
  • Experience working within a packaging environment is a distinct advantage.

Regular Contact

The organization has a very flat hierarchies and short decision-making paths, you will have contact with a wide range of colleagues on a daily basis and be involved with customer contact where appropriate.
